— Editorial series · Vol. I · Tokyo · 2026
A new ongoing series from TDM.Space.
Notes From… documents exceptional retail streets and flagship environments around the world, captured with the same level of care, precision and post-production we apply to commissioned work.
Rather than quick snapshots, each edition is a considered study of place: architecture, materials, light, and the way brands express themselves in physical space.
The series begins in Tokyo with Notes from Ginza, one of the most refined and architecturally ambitious retail districts anywhere in the world, and will continue across key cities including Paris, New York, London and Shanghai.
Notes from Ginza…
On a recent trip to Tokyo, TDM.Space Creative Director Tom Morgan spent an afternoon walking through Ginza with a camera, documenting some of the district’s most striking flagship stores. No brief. No client. Just time to walk and observe.
Ginza remains one of the most remarkable retail environments in the world. Within just a few streets you find some of the most ambitious brand architecture anywhere, towers commissioned from Japan’s leading studios, façades that read as much as sculpture as signage, and interiors that treat retail as a piece of long-form design rather than seasonal display.
The plates below capture a slice of that, flagships from Dior, Hermès, Bulgari, Mikimoto, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co. and others, photographed across the district and edited as a single visual study.
